Recipe For West Paw Toppl: Pumpkin Diced Latte

Fall is almost here! From (slightly) cooler temperatures to seasonal favorites, we are so ready for it! So when I saw the Pumpkin Diced Latte recipe for West Paw Toppl, I knew I had to try it.

If you are not familiar with the West Paw Toppl, you can read more about it here. It’s my go-to choice for a stuffed, interactive treat toy. It’s durable, made from recycled materials, and dishwasher safe. And if your dog doesn’t love it, it’s backed by West Paw’s Love It Guarantee. What could go wrong?

Everyone’s Fall favorite: Pumpkin diced latte

Full disclosure: I tweaked this West Paw recipe just a touch, but the concept is the same. What you’ll need: equal parts non-fat, plain Greek yogurt, pumpkin puree, and chopped apple, plus a smear of Xylitol-free peanut butter.

This Toppl filling is a little thinner than one that includes mashed banana, like Banana Mutt Crisp, which is our favorite recipe for West Paw Toppl. To keep the filling inside, I sealed the Toppl’s side hole with a smear of Xylitol-free peanut butter. This allowed me to fill the Toppl to the top (pun completely intended 🤣) without the filling spilling out of the side.

Personally, I like a crisp, sweet apple. I used Fuji apples for this recipe, though you can use whatever type of apple you like. With an Oxo apple corer, I removed the apple’s core and seeds, and then diced the apple slices. Reserve a little diced apple to add to the top before freezing.

A pack of apples, a container of yogurt, and a mixing bowl with both plus diced apples to fill into a West Paw Toppl

Get stirring! Fold the yogurt, pumpkin puree and diced apple together. After sealing the Toppl’s hole with peanut butter, spoon the filling into the Toppl. Cover the top with additional diced apple pieces, and then freeze. Voila! Your dog can be as basic as you want them to be!
