Our Favorite Dog Toys

Toys, toys and more toys. The girls have a toy box that is overflowing with choices. But I want to share some of our favorite dog toys. Favorite dog toys are those the girls choose to play with again and again, and also ones that are pretty durable, and don’t require a lot of replacing.

Outward Hound Invincibles Dog Toys

Olive loves the Outward Hound Invincibles Dog Toys, especially the snake. This stuffing free plush toy has a super durable interior lining, coupled with double stitching all the way around. The snake is available in multiple sizes with 3, 6, or 12 squeakers. And these aren’t your average squeakers – they continue to squeak even if punctured! It’s been a pretty durable addition to our toy box.

West paw zogoflex toys

If you’ve read my post on the West Paw Toppl Treat Toy then you already know this one is an interactive favorite! But West Paw offers lots of toys made from the same durable Zogoflex material. We have more than a few of the West Paw Hurley Dog Bone Chew Toys. They are super durable for heavy chewers. However, I still find it best to have multiples, so the chewing is spread around between the toys instead of being focused on just one. Multipet Lamb Chop Classic Plush Toy

We first learned of the Multipet Lamb Chop Classic Plush Toy at the Wag N Splash dog pool. No, this isn’t a technically a pool toy, or even anything extra durable. It’s a regular plush squeaky toy. But it is Olive’s FAVORITE toy to fetch in the pool. She loves it so much that after being dried off, she refuses to leave the pool deck, and tries to retrieve Lamb Chop from the toy shelf to take home! So, of course, all the girls now have their own ‘home’ Lamb Chop toys. These are also available in multiple sizes, but we have the 6″ mini, just like at the pool.

ChuckIt! Sport Ball Launcher

If your dogs are at all like mine, they love to play ball. And the ChuckIt! Sport Ball Launcher is an arm saver! It’s available in multiple sizes, but I use the Classic 26M, which works perfectly with a regular tennis ball. As the ball gets gross, your hands stay clean. But best of all, it allows me to achieve those long distance throws that Lemon loves to chase!

A word of caution when choosing tennis balls for your dog. Many ‘tennis ball style’ toys sold at pet stores are made from two halves of rubber glued together and covered in felt. These come apart much more easily than a real tennis ball, and pose a safety hazard for your dog. Always choose a real tennis ball like the Penn Championship ball. That is not to say they are indestructible, but a real tennis ball will hold up much better for dogs who love to play ball.

Aside from choosing a top quality antler, you need to choose an antler that is appropriately sized for your dog.
