Summer West Paw Toppl Recipe: Belly Rub Breeze
As much as I may want it to be, summer isn’t over yet! When it’s this hot outside, I’m looking for a summer West Paw Toppl recipe that’s cool and refreshing.
The inspiration for this recipe came to me in a Bark Box last summer. Originally intended for serving in a bowl, I thought it would make the perfect frozen Toppl filling! I’ve changed up the process and totally winged it on the measurements, but we’re keeping the original name for this summer enrichment treat toy recipe.
Belly Rub Breeze
This summer West Paw Toppl recipe calls for just two ingredients. It doesn’t get much easier than that! You’re going to need a seedless watermelon and a can of light coconut milk. I used a Sugar Baby watermelon.
You’ll also need a blender to prepare this recipe, and something to plug the side hole of the Toppl. I use a Stoppl from Paws in Earnest for this. If you don’t have Stoppl or similar stopper on hand, you could use a thick banana slice or a large dollop of Xylitol-free peanut butter.

Cut your watermelon into chunks and place into the blender. Add a splash of light coconut milk and blend until smooth. This takes literally only a few seconds with my blender. Pour the mixture into the Toppl and freeze. That’s it for this super refreshing summer West Paw Toppl recipe!
If your dog is finicky about eating fresh watermelon, it’s likely the texture that’s offputting, not the flavor. So don’t hesitate to give this blended recipe a try. But if your dog likes watermelon chunks like mine do, place some into the Toppl before pouring in the watermelon mixture as an optional twist!
It should go without saying, but always place your Toppl into a container before placing in the freezer to protect against leaks or accidental spillage.

Equipment
- Blender
- Stoppl or similar stopper
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Seedless Watermelon Chunks
- 1/8 cup Light Coconut Milk
Instructions
- Plug the side hole of your Toppl with a Stoppl or similar stopper. A thick banana slice or large dollop of Xylitol-free peanut butter will do the trick if you don't have a stopper.

- Place remaining watermelon chunks into the blender. Add the light coconut milk. Blend until smooth (just a few seconds really).
- Pour the watermelon mixture into the Toppl and freeze.
- If used, remove stopper before serving.
This summer West Paw Toppl recipe Belly Rub Breeze was the perfect way to cool off on a late summer afternoon. It was easy to prepare, and all of my girls kept focused on it until every last bit was gone!
