I do not use it with my laundry in general or with my girls’ collars, so I cannot answer from experience. However, I do use vinegar as a natural alternative to commercial fabric softener when washing linens. This would be a good choice to add to your laundry when washing collars.

I use Fabric Softeners while washing my clothes and towels, and I’m not sure if I should use it when I’m washing my pet’s collar with them.

I keep it right in the garage and it doesn’t smell at all! Don’t get wrong…when you switch out to a fresh bag, it will knock you down…but outside of that, it’s been the perfect solution. With 3 labs in the low 50 lbs range, I change the bag out once a week on garbage day.
